Definitions
Sportsmanship: Fair play, respect, and positive behaviour in sport.
Ethics: Principles of right and wrong behaviour.
Integrity: Acting with honesty and strong moral values.
Fundamentals of Sportsmanship
- Understand and follow the rules of the game
- Show respect to officials and opponents
- Recognise and appreciate good play
- Display pride in behaviour and actions
- Promote fair play and teamwork
Coaches
- Prioritise player wellbeing over winning
- Lead with respect and positive behaviour
- Set a strong example on and off the field
- Encourage sportsmanship and teamwork
- Support players and parents respectfully
Players
- Treat everyone with respect
- Show good sportsmanship at all times
- Control temper and behaviour
- Respect officials, teammates, and opponents
- Attend training and matches prepared
Parents & Spectators
- Encourage positive participation
- Respect coaches, officials, and players
- Use respectful language and behaviour
- Support children without coaching from the sideline
- Promote a safe and enjoyable environment
Zero Tolerance Policy
Tarneit North Football Club maintains a strict zero-tolerance approach toward abuse, intimidation, harassment, dissent, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Breaches & Penalties
- Warnings or disciplinary action may apply
- Repeated offences may result in suspension
- Serious misconduct may lead to termination of membership
Unacceptable Behaviour
- Bullying, abuse, or harassment
- Disrespect toward officials or members
- Violence, fighting, or intimidation
- Inappropriate social media behaviour
Expected Behaviour
- Respect teammates and opponents
- Thank coaches, officials, and volunteers
- Promote teamwork and inclusion
- Represent the club positively
Alcohol & Drug Use
The use of alcohol or drugs in connection with club activities or events is strictly prohibited.

Member & Child Safety Policy
Tarneit North Football Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members, with the highest priority placed on the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
1. Purpose
This policy outlines Tarneit North Football Club’s commitment to safeguarding all members, particularly children and young people, from harm, abuse, neglect, and discrimination.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all players, coaches, officials, volunteers, committee members, parents, guardians, contractors, and visitors associated with the club.
